The Fiber Arts Department is found on the El Rito Campus of Northern New Mexico College, also known as the “El Rito Heritage Retreat Center”. The Center has a cafeteria and a limited number of dorm rooms and suites available at very reasonable prices.

Important facts about the El Rito Heritage Retreat Center:

• Alcohol is prohibited on campus.
• No pets are allowed on campus.
• Wireless internet access and cell phone service are available, but only in select locations on campus.
• The Retreat Center has a small library and student center where computers and internet access are available.

Important facts about the town of El Rito:

• The closest ATM is in Abiquiu at Bode’s Store which closes at 8 pm.
• There is one small restaurant in town: “El Farolito” open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 8pm
• There are two local food markets with the very basics in selection which close at 6 pm.
• Computer and internet access are available at El Rito’s Public Library.

Directions From Santa Fe

Coming from Santa Fe and the south you can find the town of El Rito and NNMC’s El Rito Campus by taking U.S. Highway 84 northwest through Española to the junction of State Highway 554. The town of El Rito is approximately 12 miles from the 84/554 junction. The campus is the first cluster of building on your left as you enter town.

Travel time is approximately 60 minutes from Santa Fe.
